Under Eye Concealer Swatches – Part 1

Under Eye Concealer Swatches – Part 1

This might win for shortest blog post EVER! Since I’ve somehow acquired four shades of Tarte Shape Tape and an absurd amount of under eye concealers, I wanted to put up a light medium concealer comparison swatches post for reference purposes. Not long ago, I did an extensive concealer testing video since I know how it can be hard to find the right concealer and shade. These swatches go hand in hand with that video.

For reference, my skintone is light/medium yellow toned. Some of my foundation shades are MAC NC25, NARS Fiji, Estee Lauder Double Wear in Dawn. My full foundation shade list can be found in the description box of any of my YouTube videos. I do usually buy peachy toned concealers for under the eye since they work so much better for counteracting the dark tones than yellow toned concealers. I have no problems blending my under eye concealer into my foundation seamlessly.

Love your channel! Been trying to find where I saw your spreadsheet again on foundations. I’ve tried all of these except Naked skin. I’ve been a Nars fan after MK changed their concealer formula. Recently I’ve switched to FitMe after seeing it was a dupe for NARS which I really like. I layer Lancôme in camee on top along bag shadow and although not really supposed to be a color corrector somehow it works perfectly for me. My favorite tip of yours was the conconut oil. That has helped my eye bags so much! I’ve watched so many of your eye videos as I’m having to learn how to apply makeup at 48 after years of the “natural look” aka I don’t know how to use makeup but can slap on a few things and look ok which I can’t quite pull off anymore! I live in a Dallas suburb and so many women around me have endless work done half of which I’m not even sure what it is which is fine but I’m a whimp about such things and am left with whatever I can get OTC and my teen’s unused tretinoin. So thanks for being the unofficial makeup for dummies channel 😉

It’s through a lot of hard work and support! It takes a LOT of work to do all this and I definitely am not independently wealthy by any means! 🙂 I have a full time demanding daytime job and work YouTube/my social networks on the side (which is pretty much a second full time job) which is how I’m able to afford the products I test out for you all. Thank you!

Hi, I found your youtube channel while searching for comparisons for foundation since I live abroad now and don’t have access to stores that I can go in and swatch. You have so many matches/likes to my previous foundation as well as lip color shades so I have subscribed for future reference. It’s helpful when I can’t see it on me but can see it on someone who has similar coloring. I just ordered Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer after having watched your 2017 favorites video, instead of the Tarte shape tape, and didn’t realize there were 2 different shades of “Light Medium.” One is 2C for cool and 2W for warm and both are light medium. Can you tell me which you use?

I’m in the cool. I find the peach undertones much better than yellow undertones for counteracting my dark under eye circles. Sorry for the late reply! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your foundation colour matches we are exactly the same shade! I’ve recently subscribed to your Youtube channel 🙂 I also have dark circles under my eyes and fine lines, you’ve said you prefer peachy undertones for concealer but does the Tarte shape tape in Light sand work as well? I prefer yellow undertones for my eyes.

Thank you so much this blog is a life saver!

Love your you tube channel. Very informative regarding make up. I watch almost every video by you. I wear Nars radiant concealer in shade custard. Please recommend me the shade which matces in Tarte shape tape concealer.

Hi! I’m not an expert on the entire shade range, unfortunately. I can tell you that I wear light medium on my face which seems to be close to that. I use light medium honey in shape tape under my eyes and Canelle in NARS RCC which is the shade up from Custard I believe. So you may want to start with light medium. It’s a shade deeper than LMH. I’ve been known to bring my concealer to Ulta with me to swatch on my hand to try and find a comparable match in store! You may want to try that route! Or maybe swatch it in the car before you go in so they don’t think you’re shoving their concealer in your purse! Thank you so much!! 🙂
